Dana Borich

Dreams of Transportation

My dreams of transportation
Consist of cars, buses and trains
I have never dreamt
About airplanes,
At least I don’t remember any dreams like that.

‘Dreams of Transportation’ is based on Dana Borich’s experience of a recurring motif, of different types of transportation in her dreams, from a very young age. A process of reflection and introspection came about to conclude into a tactile sound installation. The sound material is derived from different sources, relating to her national-ethnic background and family structure. The piece strives to manifest these various personal sounds into a sensory experience of the moment of waiting and longing; sitting on an airport bench, with the history and biography of an immigrant, having to go on to the next destination. In this shortened version for Recht auf Wir, Dana aims to bring a feeling of an augmented time perception through materials she used in the installation with added sounds.

Please listen to the soundtrack using headphones.
